The Wisconsin Rural Water Association (WRWA) held their fifth annual Operator Expo on August 24, 2006 at the WRWA grounds in Plover, WI. Public water supply and wastewater treatment operators from systems across the state of Wisconsin attended this daylong event. The expo offered classroom and hands-on training designed to support operators in their goal of improving and preserving the quality and quantity of water resources. The venue also provided the operators a chance to visit with vendors and view innovative advancements in technical equipment and techniques. In addition, the operators had the opportunity to receive technical assistance and the chance to address specific situations that they had encountered in the field. “The expo is a great way for water and wastewater operators to enhance their technical knowledge and to share tips and tricks among each other,” noted Kathy Savonne, WRWA Director of Education and Outreach. This year’s expo set records with 363 total attendance and 32 vendor booths. The vendors demonstrated everything from leak detection and safety equipment to methods for determining new well sites and so much more.  For more information on WRWA, the Operator Expo and upcoming events held by WRWA, visit our website at www.wrwa.org.
