WATER ASSOCIATION HOLDS 19TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE

The Wisconsin Rural Water Association, located in the Plover Industrial Park and representing over 649 municipal water/wastewater systems and non-municipal systems is hosting its 19th Annual Technical Conference in Green Bay at the Regency Suites/KI Convention Center from March 27-30, 2007.

The four-day conference begins Tuesday March 27th with pre-conference workshops focusing on operations and maintenance.  The full conference will kick-off on Wednesday opening sessions from Ken Blomberg, Wisconsin Rural Water’s Executive Director and Rodney Tart, National Rural Water’s President.

This year’s theme “Two Decades of Service” is highlighting Wisconsin Rural Water’s twenty years of providing service and support to Wisconsin’s water/wastewater systems.

WRWA expects over 1300 attendees during four days as they participate in technical sessions and view and exhibit hall with more than 200 displays from the water supply industry.

According to WRWA Executive Director Ken M. Blomberg, “This year’s convention is shaping up to be yet the largest in WRWAs history.  We continue to dedicate it to the excellent people that supply the finest drinking water in the world, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Our industry stands proud, and meets or exceeds some of the toughest state and federal standards around.

A drinking water taste test will be held on Thursday, March 29th and the winning community’s water will travel to Washington D.C. in April, where it will compete in a national taste test.
