Operator in Training – Wastewater Division

The City of Monroe (population 10,717) is seeking qualified individuals to fill an opening as an Operator in the Wastewater Division. The primary purpose of this position is to perform routine semi-skilled manual work in the operations and general maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant, sanitary sewer system, and lift stations while striving for certification by the State of Wisconsin as a wastewater operator.
This is a full time position with additional rotation of holidays, nights, and weekend work. Mechanical and computer skills are highly desired.
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and a current, valid state issued driver’s license. Preference will be given to applicants who have a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and/or a current, valid WI Certificate as a wastewater operator.
