The Village of Weston, Marathon County, WI, pop. 15,276 is seeking a fulltime employee to perform work in the Public Works and Utilities department of the Services Division. Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent, knowledge and experience in water/wastewater construction, operation, and maintenance, general construction, and landscaping maintenance. Possession of a valid Wisconsin Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within 90 days of hire, effective oral and written communication skills. Certification by the WI DNR as a Public Water Supply Operator, Grade 1, with Subclasses F, D, and V, is highly desirable. The employee will perform operation and maintenance functions on the water and wastewater physical plant, streets, and parks. The work shall generally include a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks, related to the operation of the wells, reservoirs, booster pumps, chemical feed equipment, water storage tanks, lift stations, water distribution system and wastewater collection system. Assignments also include working in other Village functional areas such as street and park maintenance, as the needs of the Village dictate. Daily work plans are reviewed each day with the Services Division Foremen. Supervision received, for day-to-day activities, is general. Overall work plans are reviewed with the Utility Maintenance Foreman for periodic review of progress. Special projects and work assignments may be coordinated with Services Division Foremen, the Deputy Director of Public Works, or Director of Public Works. There is frequent interaction with the public and other Village departments. Hourly salary range DOQ is $18.62 to $21.28 (Utility Worker I), $20.70 to $23.65 (Utility Operator II), or $22.76 – $26.01 (Utility Senior Operator III), plus benefits.
