City of Washburn is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Mechanic/Equipment Operator within the Department of Public Works. This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position requiring the successful applicant to work a schedule of Monday through Friday and any emergency or non-emergency on-call assignments as necessary for the City.

The successful candidate must be an experienced mechanic, must have an outstanding driving record, must be able to obtain a Wisconsin CDL, must have high school diploma or equivalent, and must successfully pass a physical examination and drug and alcohol screening, and criminal background check. Training as a mechanic or experience as a heavy equipment/diesel truck mechanic is preferred. Other job requirements are outlined in the job description.

Beginning wage is $19.58 hour for the first six (6) months; $21.20 hour the following six (6) months of employment, and $23.04 thereafter.

All rates are based on 2021 wages.
