Public Works Services Technician – Water

The Village of Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, Department of Public Works seeks a full-time Public Works Services Technician – Water.

This position is a high level, skilled positon.  This position performs maintenance, repair and construction tasks for the Department of Public Works as well as Water System management, maintenance, repair and replacement tasks.  The positon’s primary focus will be on the reading and replacement of water meters, managing water utility inventory along with Water System operation, maintenance and repairs.  The position shall be capable of working in emergencies (including after-hours), providing directions to other public works employees and handle long work assignments as the need arises.  This positon shall also share after hours “on call” responsibilities with other public works employees.  The Village offers an excellent benefits package including, but not limited to; paid vacation, sick, compensation and holiday time, health, dental and life insurance, deferred compensation programs, and retirement contributions as part of the Wisconsin Retirement System.

Candidates must have a Wisconsin Motor Vehicle Commercial Driver’s License or have the ability to obtain one. Candidate must also possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Grade 1-D WI Waterworks license within the first 18 months of employment. Work hours are generally 7:00am–3:30pm Monday-Friday, with the possibility of off-hour overtime.  Starting hourly rate pay range is $28.00 – $30.50.
