Position: Sanitary District #4 Certified Operator
Type: Full Time – Non-exempt (Hourly)
Compensation: $23.00 – $26.00 based on qualifications

Summary
Successful candidate will perform a variety of skilled, technical, and administrative tasks pertaining to the operations, maintenance, repair, and replacement of the municipal water and wastewater collection system.
Essential Functions
- Inspect, evaluate, maintain, and repair water wells, pumping stations, filter stations, and pumping equipment.
- Inspect, evaluate, and maintain sewer collection system and wastewater pumping station.
- Maintain and prepare all necessary water plant records, logs, and charts.
- Install, test, repair, and read meters.
- Performs water quality sampling and monitoring to comply with DNR rules, PCS rules, and local policies.
- Operation and maintenance of the water treatment plant and grounds.
- Exercise valves and maintain valve records.
- Hydrant flushing, maintenance, and repair.
- Assist with water main and service installation and repair.
- Assist with sewer main and lateral repair and maintenance.
- Follow oral and written instructions in order to accomplish work tasks.
- Must be able to communicate with the public, other employees, and other government agencies in a professional manner.
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and as a team with minimal supervision.
- Work a rotating on- call schedule (minimum 30 minutes response time) including weekends and holidays.
Education, Experience, and Training
- Possess an understanding of electrical and plumbing systems.
- The ability to read and understand utility maps and codes.
- Basic knowledge of GIS mapping.
- Computer skills including SCADA.
- Willing to learn on the job.
- Applicants must possess a valid Wisconsin driver license.
- Possess a Wisconsin DNR Operators license for Water Distribution, Groundwater, and Iron Removal or the ability to obtain the license within a year.

- Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to retain confidentiality of town employment, personnel, and financial matters.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and their applications.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to manage time well, be highly organized, and plan work assignments effectively.
- Capable of meeting and dealing with public in a pleasant and professional manner.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to establish successful working relationships.
