The Mellen Municipal Utilities is currently updating their application files for future employment as a full-time Sewer/Water Operator.
The operator will perform duties associated with the operation and maintenance of the sewer and water system. Duties would include, but are not limited to, daily documentation for the sewer and water system along with all required reports, servicing lift stations, operation and maintenance of valves, curb stops, water meters, and hydrants. Inspection of water service and sewer laterals, and perform other related work activities as needed. Applicant must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent; must be able to work independently and also with others and be able to lift 75 lbs. with no restrictions. It is required of this position to be available 24/7 as well as holidays. The operator will also work in conjunction with the City of Mellen Public Works department as needed.
Experience in sewer and water operations with a municipality or utility preferred. The ideal candidate will have a Wisconsin Wastewater Operator Certification, Certification in Groundwater and Distribution as well as Aerated Lagoons and UV System. The operator must have a valid WI CDL or be licensed with CDL within one year of hire. If applicant does not have the above listed certifications, they must be certified within two years of hire. Wages are commensurate with experience. Position includes a benefit package including health insurance and enrollment in the Wisconsin Retirement System.
