City of Monona is accepting applications for a full time Street & Utility Services Technician position with the Department of Public Works & Utilities. Primary duties and responsibilities include a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties related to the repair, maintenance and construction of City streets; and the operations and maintenance of the City’s storm water, sanitary sewer, and water utilities. The candidate will operate various types of vehicles and construction equipment from light duty to heavy duty, troubleshoot pumps and chemical feed systems, and must be able to use a variety of hand tools and other miscellaneous equipment in their daily duties.
Candidates must have the ability to work scheduled overtime on rotating weekends once every seven weeks, holidays and unscheduled overtime for snow plowing or emergency operations. A valid Wisconsin driver’s license is required for this position. A Class B CDL and WDNR water system certification subclass G-groundwater and D-distribution must also be earned within the first year of employment.
The hiring wage for this position is $24-$25 per hour.
