All Municipal Water Systems in Wisconsin are required to develop and implement a Comprehensive Cross-Connection Control Program as required in NR810.15. Residential water service connections are to surveyed/inspected for potential Cross-Connections at a minimum of once every 10 years. This 3-hour course is instructed live via streaming Zoom.

A. Introduction to Backflow Prevention 1 hour duration
12:00 – 12:30 Backflow/Backpressure/Back-siphonage
12:30 – 1:00 Hazards of Cross-Connections/Interconnections
B. Regulations and Code Overview 1 hour duration
1:00 – 1:20 DNR 810.15 Cross-Connection Control Program requirements
1:20 – 1:40 Plumbing Code Chapter SPS 382.41
1:40 – 2:00 ASSE approval standard
C. Cross Connection Surveys/Inspections 1 hour duration
2:00 – 2:10 Backflow Prevention Devices & Assemblies
2:10 – 2:20 Assessing plumbing connections
2:20 – 2:30 Corrective action requirements
2:30 – 2:50 Class Exercise – Photo review Q & A
2:50 – 3:00 Review of handout and notes
