UTILITIES OPERATOR – SEWER

DUTIES:  Operate, inspect, maintain, clean and repair components of the sewer utility system including sewers, manholes and lift stations. Maintain telemetry controls, pumps, sewer facilities and grounds. Operate SCADA control system, CCTV video equipment, jet cleaning equipment and investigate customer complaints. Follow all regulatory agency standards and requirements including CMOM.  Operate equipment typically used in general construction. Assist as necessary with operation and repair of water mains, valves, hydrants, booster pumps, groundwater wells, auxiliary power units and storage facilities. Install, read (Automated Meter Reader), replace, test and repair water meters. Flush water mains and turn valves as necessary.  Perform snowplowing and de-icing of streets and utility facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have valid Wisconsin CDL driver’s license, parts ABCD, including type N endorsement or must obtain CDL no later than January 15, 2019. Certification from NAASCO’s Pipeline Assessment & Certification Program and WDNR Waterworks certifications are desirable but not required.  Experience with operation of various construction related equipment is preferred.  Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions.  Selected candidate will be required to perform manual labor including lifting, carrying and moving up to 50 lbs. frequently, regardless of the weather conditions.  Must be able to work outside of normal work hours including weekends and holidays.  Qualified applicants will be required to satisfactorily pass a series of tests which may include, but are not limited to aptitude testing, driving skill testing and drug testing.

SALARY:   Range of $22.54 to $25.05 per hour as well as an Annual Stipend paid for applicable NAASCO or Grade 1 DNR Certifications
