City of Delavan has an exciting full-time opening in our Public Works Department for a Utility Maintenance Worker. The City of Delavan is a growing community, with a population of 8,505.

The Ideal candidate will have a Wisconsin Water Operator certificate for Groundwater, Distribution, Iron Removal, and VOC Removal or could obtain those certifications within a two-year time period.  Possess a valid Wisconsin CDL class B with a tanker endorsement or have the ability to obtain one after employment.  This position entails monitoring the water treatment plants on a daily basis to ensure proper operations, performing laboratory tests, data entry, water treatment plant-related maintenance, communicating with contractors and the public, and other duties as assigned.  Applicants must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in varying weather conditions and must be able to wear respiratory equipment when needed.  Applicants must also be able to work in confined spaces.  In addition, this position requires mandatory on-call status 24 hours a day, seven days a week on a rotational basis and the ability to respond to emergency calls within 30 minutes.  Prior experience as a water utility operator is strongly preferred but not required.
