The Village of McFarland has an immediate opening for Streets and Utilities Superintendent in the Village’s Public Works Department. The Streets and Utilities Superintendent will be responsible for providing supervision for approximately ten to fifteen employees and coordinating the street, utility, and related operations within the Public Works Department, including street and sidewalk construction and maintenance, construction and maintenance of water, sanitary sewer, and stormwater sewer utilities, vehicle and equipment maintenance, solid waste collection, snow and ice control, and maintenance of municipal facilities. This position will also assist the Public Works Director with planning and coordinating the programs and services of the department, training and mentoring department employees, formulating department goals and short/long range plans, preparing and administering the department budget, meeting management, and establishing standard operating policies and procedures for the department.
The qualified candidate will possess the following education and experience:
- High school diploma or equivalency required with an Associate’s degree preferred in the fields of construction, project management, civil engineering or related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible experience in the fields of public works, water utility, sanitary sewer utility, or related field.
- Any combination of education and experience which in the sole discretion of the Village would demonstrate the ability to meet the required knowledge, skills and abilities for the position may also be considered.
Starting salary range is $78,829 to $106,420 (depending on qualifications) with an excellent benefit package, including health insurance, participation in Wisconsin Retirement System, ample paid time off and much more.
