Wastewater Collection System Specialist

City of Watertown Wastewater Treatment Facility is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Wastewater Collection System Specialist. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for cleaning and televising sanitary and storm sewers and helping with general maintenance and repairs equipment, building structures and grounds at the wastewater treatment plant. Candidate must be an energetic self-starter with excellent work record and able to work with minimum supervision. This position is part of an on-call and weekend rotation and must be able to respond within (60) minutes in emergency situations. The on-call and weekend responsibilities include basic laboratory and wastewater plant operations. Ability to read construction drawings and GIS mapping knowledge is preferred.

The individual filling this position must possess a CDL with appropriate endorsements or have the ability to obtain a CDL within six months of hire and have a clean driving record. Qualifications: Wisconsin driver’s license, high school diploma and 3 years’ experience in trade, vocational or technical school degree/courses in related fields and/or experience along with knowledge and training in wastewater treatment plant and collection system is desirable. State of Wisconsin Wastewater Operators certification is desirable but not mandatory.

Starting compensation is $23.47 to $24.81, DOQ. This is a full-time hourly position with normal work hours from 6 am to 2 pm Monday Friday with a weekend rotation schedule. The City offers a comprehensive and excellent benefit package.
