City of Chippewa Falls is accepting applications for a full-time Water Service Maintenance position. This position operates and maintains the City well fields and water distribution system; performs service, hydrant, and water main installations; operates backhoe/loader, tractor and dump truck; repairs and services water meters; reads and records registrations of customer’s meters; assists in cross connection inspection; and is a member of the winter snow and ice removal team.
Qualifications: Associate Degree from a two year water works course; and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Eligible applicants should possess or be able to obtain within the required time periods WI DNR Grade 1 in subclass Distribution (D), Groundwater (G) and a Wisconsin Commercial Driver’s License, with the ability to obtain Cross Connection survey certification, Iron Removal (I), and Zeolite Softening (Z) certifications, and Confined space education/participation. Applicant must hold a valid driver’s license, be able to lift up to 100 lbs. occasionally and to climb water towers. Wage is $25.26-$26.25 dependent upon certifications.
