City of Port Washington Water Utility is currently accepting applications for a full time Outside Maintenance (Distribution) and Filtration Plant Operator.
Minimum qualifications and experience include high school graduation or equivalency, a Wisconsin CDL license, and a DNR S-1, D-1 certification or the ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
The duties for this position require that the individual become fully trained in all aspects of maintaining the City’s distribution system, including, but not limited to, water meter reading, maintenance and repair. The position also requires that the individual become fully trained in all operations of the Surface Water Filtration Plant as the individual will act as a relief operator during the absence of the regular operators. Additionally, this position requires the individual to become trained in snowplowing and be responsible for a designated route under the supervision of the Street commissioner, responding to snowfall events in which the City plows. This position is required to respond to emergencies within the Water Utility, including water main or service breaks on evenings, weekends and holidays.
Current starting wage is $24.27/hr., with step increases up to $30.06/hr. after 4 years, along with excellent benefits.
