Advanced Backflow Tester Refresher – Continuing Education Workshop

(6 Continuing Education Credits for: Municipal Water Operator, Journeyman Plumber, Master Plumber, Cross Connection Control Tester)

Backflow Prevention Assemblies are required to be tested annually by a person who has completed a DSPS approved 40-hour tester course. The backflow tester is also required to be registered with DSPS and maintain 6 hours of approved backflow test related education every 4 years. This class offers detailed visual presentations, hands-on testing exercises, and a 50-question practice exam.

8:00 am – 9:00 am: Introduction to Backflow Prevention
9:00 am – 10:00 am: Regulations and Code Overview
10:00 am – 11:00 am: Refresher on standard Test Procedure
11:00 am – 12:00 pm: Test Gauge Care and Calibration
12:00 pm – 1:00 pm: Break
1:00 pm – 2:00 pm: Troubleshooting
2:00 pm – 3:00 pm: Repair & Maintenance

Instructors: Gary McLaren of HydroCorp and Rich Davison of Soderholm & Associates. Gary McLaren and Rich Davison have instructed Cross Connection Control classes for WRWA since 2012.
