10:00 – 10:10 ~ Introduction to Plumbing and Utility Work: From getting started in plumbing, to working for a utility company.
10:10 – 10:30 ~ Preparing for Lead Service Line Replacement: Determining the scope of replacement, including homeowner side replacements from the curb stop to the home or full replacement to the water main. Communication, homeowner contact, obtaining permission, and gathering important homeowner and renter information.
10:30 – 11:00 ~ Developing the Scope of Work: Selecting water service line size and materials, addressing electrical meter grounding, meter horns, American made materials, and providing homeowners with a clear description of the work to be completed inside their homes. Planning for finished basements, concrete floors, and unexpected interior work. Coordination with plumbing and electrical inspectors.
11:00 – 11:20 ~ Homeowner Communication & Project Scheduling: Developing block-by-block schedules, communicating when work will begin, documenting existing conditions with before-and-after photographs, and maintaining clear communication with homeowners and renters throughout the project.
11:20 – 11:40 ~ Lead Service Line Replacement in Practice: Photos and examples from past lead service line replacement projects, including challenges encountered and solutions used.
11:40 – 12:00 ~ Questions & Discussion: Open discussion and questions about planning, coordinating, and completing lead service line replacement projects.
