Department of Public Works (DPW) Operator

Village of Theresa is accepting applications for a Department of Public Works (DPW) Operator. This position performs a wide variety of duties in the maintenance and repair of village streets, utilities, parks, equipment, and facilities throughout the year.

Position Overview

The DPW Operator is responsible for:

  • Street and utility maintenance and repair
  • Park rounds and general upkeep
  • Snow plowing and winter maintenance
  • Year-round outdoor work including water and sewer system operations and street repairs
  • Equipment operation, maintenance, and light repair
  • Assisting with water and wastewater treatment operations

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of related experience preferred
  • Heavy equipment operation experience and/or license is a plus
  • State certifications in water treatment and sewer operations are highly desirable
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform manual labor

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly Pay: $22.02 – $25.10 (based on qualifications and experience)
  • Additional compensation for certifications
