Utility Operator

Village of Osceola Wisconsin is seeking qualified applicants to join our team as a Utility Operator.  This position is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of our water production, distribution system, wastewater collection, and wastewater treatment plant.

Required qualifications include:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license with no more than 3 moving violations in the past 5 years.
  • Ability to obtain Water Operators Grade 1 Certification, Subclass D-Distribution and G-Groundwater within two years of hire.
  • Ability to obtain Wastewater Basic Certification, Subclass A1- Suspended Growth, B- Solids Separation, C- Biological Solids/Sludge, P-Total Phosphorous, D- Disinfection, SS- Collection System or other subclasses required by the DNR within two years of hire.
  • Possess a high level of mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and understand complex systems and perform maintenance and repairs on process equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret maps, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak professionally in a forward-facing role.
  • Proficiency in the operation and use of computers, MS Office applications, and mobile devices.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Knowledge or experience in water production and distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, wastewater treatment systems.
  • Associates degree or coursework in related field or combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in and or completion of trade school courses related to plumbing, electrical, mechanical or maintenance.

Salary range: $26.94-$33.38 DOQ + Certification Pay

This position is non-exempt and works a regular weekend/holiday rotation with occasional overtime requirements.
