Baraboo Utilities is seeking a qualified individual to perform Foreman duties within the Water Utility. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by 5 years of closely related responsible experience in a water utility or plumbers’ operation with supervisory experience. Applicants must possess a WI DNR Municipal Waterworks Operator Certification with subclasses: Groundwater & Distribution and must hold a valid Commercial Driver’s License. The position is responsible for the efficient and effective daily administration of the Water Utility and will schedule, supervise, and assist the Water Utility workers in the operation and maintenance of the water distribution system. This is a highly responsible position, requiring technical qualifications and involving the supervision of licensed skilled personnel. Tasks may require frequent exposure to adverse environmental conditions. This position involves periodic entry into confined spaces, trenches and excavations. Interact with members of regulatory agencies and the citizens of the City of Baraboo. Rotates weekend (every 5th weekend), bookkeeping and testing duties with other members in the Utility and is subject to emergency response duty 24 hours per day 7 days a week (this position requires a 30-minute response time from your place of residence to the nearest City of Baraboo municipal border). The existing Pay Range is between $30.20 to $38.54 per hour and the starting wage will be dependent upon applicants’ qualifications.
