Maintenance Worker

Village of Cameron (Pop. 1800) is seeking an individual for a full-time position to assist with all aspects of Public Works. These tasks will include but are not limited to monitor, operate and maintain water and wastewater infrastructure, distribution system and collection system, routine maintenance of both water and wastewater systems including wells, lift stations, tower, hydrants, valves, pumps, meters etc. The public works portion of this job will require the ability to perform the following tasks, snow plowing and removal, operation of dump trucks, street sweeper, sewer jetter, skid steer, backhoe, end loader, hand tools, etc.

Mowing and maintenance of all parks and cemetery grounds will be a large part of this position.  This will include mowing, trimming, raking and all other necessary tasks required at all parks, cemetery and Village of Cameron buildings.

This position will require ability to perform maintenance on all Village equipment including oil changes, greasing and other upkeep of all Village equipment.  This equipment includes backhoe, yard sweep, end loader, sewer jetter, skid steer, street sweeper and the fleet of pickups.

Class B CDL will be required (can be obtained after hire) The Village will pay up to $2500 of the cost of CDL training.  Employees will be responsible for any cost above the $2500.  The employee must remain employed with the Village for 30 months or will have to reimburse the Village the full $2500 CDL total.

Please note that overtime will be required at times and can include holidays, evening and weekends. All Public Works Employees are required to be part of holiday/weekend on call rotation.
