City of West Bend Water Utility has an opening for a full-time Water Operations Specialist-in-Training. Under general supervision, is responsible for the maintenance of the water distribution system, wells, well buildings, hydrants, meters, water quality testing, and all other utility equipment. Must be able to deal courteously with the public, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, have physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance, work flexible hours, and be available to work overtime as required. Positive communications skills, team and goal orientated and possess a willingness to accept job assignments needed. May assist with snowplowing operations to support Public Works during the winter months. Must have a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License, including valid CDL with the ability to obtain a tanker (N) endorsement, and good driving record. Ability to obtain Wisconsin DNR certification in Groundwater, Distribution, VOC and others necessary for operation of the Utility is required. Candidates will need to pass a background check, physical and drug screening. The City of West Bend offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package, including health and life insurance. Starting salary will be $30.48 – $30.94 per hour DOQ.
