Village of Cottage Grove is hiring a Public Works Technician in the Public Works & Utilities Department.
This full-time position works Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with occasional overtime due to snow removal during winter months, other operational needs, and a rotating weekend schedule for the water utility.
The Public Works Technician performs a variety of maintenance, repair, and construction duties related to streets, utilities, stormwater, and public spaces. Work includes operating vehicles and equipment, patching pavement, plowing snow, maintaining signage, and other hands-on tasks that keep the Village running smoothly.
The position offers a $2,500 bonus for applicants with a valid Wisconsin CDL (Class B) at the time of hire and provides opportunities to develop skills in street, water, and sewer maintenance. Interviews are expected to start on February 4th 2026.
High school diploma or equivalent required. CDL Class B (or ability to obtain within six months) required, and prior experience in public works or construction is preferred.
The salary range for this position is $27 to $30 per hour, depending on qualifications.
