Village of Whiting is seeking applications for a Utilities Operator.
This individual will be expected to perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks as required for the efficient operation of the water treatment and distribution system, wastewater facilities, lift stations, collection system, and other related equipment. This position also requires assigned duties in public works and parks, rotational on-call/weekend duties, and the ability to obtain the necessary WI DNR water/wastewater operator certifications. The Village of Whiting provides a competitive newly revised benefit package and will pay for any training and examinations associated with obtaining the necessary certifications. Starting salary is $26.00/hour but may be subject to additional pay based on prior experience and currently obtained WI DNR water/wastewater certifications at the time of application. Graduation from an accredited college, university or technical school with experience in the water/wastewater field is desirable but not required. The Village of Whiting is willing to train the right individual who exhibits an enthusiasm and commitment to the position if no prior experience is possessed. The successful candidate will be eligible to accrue paid time-off after 30 days of employment including two weeks paid vacation.
