Utility Operator I

Village of Shorewood (Milwaukee County) is seeking applicants for the full-time position of Utility Operator I within its Public Works Department. The Operator I performs essential tasks supporting the Village’s water and sewer utilities. The position requires after-hours response to utility emergencies and snow and ice control operations.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), and three years of experience in the maintenance and repair of sewer and water distribution systems and facilities.  Selected candidate must also successfully complete a drug test and physical to demonstrate ability to perform the physical demands listed in the job description, as well as the possession of a commercial driver’s license and a WI Certified Operator Distribution Grade 1 license or the ability to obtain these licenses within 6 months.

The salary range for FY2026 is $28.68 – $40.15 per hour, dependent upon experience.
