Village of Lomira (population 2,701) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Wastewater Operator/Assistant Director of Public Works. This full-time position involves a wide variety of tasks associated with the construction, operation, and maintenance of public facilities in the village, including the wastewater treatment plant, streets, sanitation, parks, and water supply. Supervisory, administrative, and field tasks are expected. Applicants must possess a Class “B” commercial driver’s license and hold a basic wastewater certification with subclasses of A1, B, C, P, and SS. Advanced wastewater operator preferred, or ability to become an advanced wastewater operator with one year of employment.
Job duties include operating the wastewater treatment plant, managing the public works team, on-call rotating weekends, snow plowing, assisting with planning and inspecting construction projects, purchasing materials and supplies, and completing system reports and samples. The successful applicant must have strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Office 365, and be familiar with GIS databases. Previous supervision/managerial experience preferred.
