City of Jefferson Water Wastewater Utility has an opening for the position of Plant Operator. The Plant Operator, as part of a team, is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant, sanitary sewer collection system and water systems. The starting 2024 wage is $26.92 along with a benefits package. Weekend and holiday work is required on a rotational basis. This is an entry level position. Prior water, wastewater and other work experience will be considered for starting wage.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional education and/or experience as required to perform the essential functions of this position. Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed. Possession of a valid WI commercial driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within 6 months is required. General Wisconsin DNR Wastewater Certification within first year of employment, encouraged to be advanced level in all subgrades related to the Treatment Facility. Wisconsin DNR Water Certification for Distribution and Groundwater within first year of employment.
