Village of Sauk City is seeking candidates for a Public Works Laborer. This position will perform a wide range of duties supporting and maintaining the Village’s facilities, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, roadways, equipment, and parks. This is a full-time position with an excellent benefit package. Wage is based upon qualifications and experience. Typical workday is Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm. Occasional weekend rotation May through September for park bathroom/shelter clean-up and watering flowers is needed. Overtime work will be required when necessary for snow plowing, sewer backups, and other emergencies.
A valid Wisconsin driver’s license and the possession of a Class B CDL license is required, as well as heavy equipment operation. Applicant must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, and the ability to perform strenuous physical labor. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
A physical fitness and drug and alcohol screening are required. Ability to work amicably with a variety of people, and within other departments of the Village is a must. Knowledge of safety rules and good communication skills are also important.
