City of Weyauwega is seeking applications for a full-time position in Public Works as a Wastewater Operator. This position will be responsible for overseeing and operating the city Wastewater Treatment Plant. General work schedule is Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM. This is an hourly non-exempt position with a rotating “on-call” schedule outside of regular business hours. This position will also assist other Public Works staff with other necessary duties that may include but not limited to: snow plowing, lawn mowing and assistance to water and street maintenance and/or other projects. Candidate must be an energetic self-starter with excellent work record and able to work with minimum supervision.
Applicants are to possess WI DNR Wastewater Certification and Groundwater Distribution. Candidates will be encouraged to further their certifications in Wastewater, General Water and Collection Systems through on the job training and courses as appropriate and available. The preferred candidate will have exceptional communication abilities, a willingness to learn and knowledge of the various methods, materials, tools and equipment used in this type of environment. Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License with class B CDL with air brake is required or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
