Walworth County Metropolitan Sewerage District (WalCoMet) is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Operator. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant and collection system equipment and facilities. This involves the performance of skilled work done independently and in team settings, including but not limited to analytical sampling and testing, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and corrective maintenance on hydraulic systems, electric motors, pumps, valves, SCADA systems, chemical feed systems, and heavy equipment. Trade, vocational or technical school degree/courses in related fields and/or experience along with knowledge and training in wastewater treatment plant and collection system is desirable. This position requires on-call rotation scheduling including select nights, weekends, and holidays. Residence must be located to accommodate a maximum response time of thirty (30) minutes to the treatment facility in Delavan, WI. The individual filling this position is required to have or be able to obtain Wisconsin DNR Wastewater Operator Certifications and a Wisconsin CDL with A, B, C, D, and N endorsements. Starting compensation is $24.36 for entry level and $27.74 for highly experienced operators.
