City of Monona Public Works Department is accepting applications for a full time Water & Sewer Operator. Primary duties include operating and maintaining the ground water supply and distribution system, the sanitary sewer lift stations and collection system, and working with SCADA. The candidate will also assist with snow removal and participate in the on-call roster (which includes scheduled weekends and holidays), and respond to after-hours emergencies. Candidates with mechanical ability and backgrounds, and other skilled trade backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Candidates must have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license, and obtain a Class B commercial driver’s license within one (1) year of hire. Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma/GED, and must have, or obtain Wisconsin DNR water operator certification class D and G within one (1) year of hire.
This is a non-union position with a starting wage range of $19.00 to $21.00 per hour, with starting wage based on experience, skills and qualifications.
