City of Portage is excited to announce an opportunity for a full-time Municipal Services Crewperson to join the Portage Public Works team.

What You’ll Do

As a Water Service Operator, you will:

  • Maintain and clear roadway infrastructure, sewer collection systems, and equipment.
  • Perform basic repairs to municipal buildings, grounds, and right of ways.
  • Provide general support to the department.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years related experience.
  • The ability to obtain a Commercial Drivers License within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to operate a variety of vehicles, equipment, and tools.
  • Combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.

The starting pay range for this position is $21.39 – $26.74/hour (commensurate with experience), with a comprehensive benefits package.

Work Hours

This is a full-time role with regular hours from 7:00AM-3:30PM, Monday through Friday (May-September), and 6:30AM-3:30PM Monday through Thursday/6:30AM-10:30AM Friday

(October-April). Position responds to after-hours calls as needed.
