Expected Hiring Range: $75,000-$90,000 (DOQ)

The Village of Marshall (population 4,200) seeks a knowledgeable, hands-on Utility Superintendent with strong expertise in water and wastewater operations and a solid understanding of Wisconsin DNR regulations. This individual will balance regulatory compliance with a practical, solutions-oriented approach while maintaining high standards of safety and system reliability. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, as the Utility Superintendent works closely with staff, Village leadership, residents, and regulatory agencies. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to effectively prioritize work while supporting efficient operations and the Village’s continued growth.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or higher degree preferred.
  • Ability to obtain Wisconsin Water Certifications (Groundwater and Distribution).
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Wisconsin Class B CDL.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience and knowledge of utility operations preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Wisconsin Wastewater Certification with advanced subgrades in:
    • Biological Sludge Handling
    • Suspended Growth Processes
    • Disinfection
    • Laboratory
    • Nutrient Removal (Nitrogen and Phosphorus)
    • Collection Systems
    • Solids Separation
