City of Wausau is seeking a Water Plant Operations Technician to help operate and maintain the systems that provide safe, reliable drinking water to our community.

• Starting pay of $28.25/hour or higher DOQ
• Monday–Friday schedule (7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.)
• $230/week on-call premium (when designated)
• $500 annual tool allowance

Minimum Requirements include an Associate degree in an Industrial Mechanical or Electrical Mechanical field –or- a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a relatable maintenance field, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. Must possess and maintain a valid State of Wisconsin Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications include:
- Education and/or experience with computers, SCADA, process and control, pneumatic systems, electrical and mechanical systems, laboratory, and reporting.
- Progressively increasing experience in the repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment, automotive equipment, and working knowledge of automated process control systems including software applications.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Journeyman Electrician License or Industrial Journeyman Electrician License issued by the State of Wisconsin.
